At 11 Plus Base, this year’s results have been incredibly rewarding. Our students showed not only academic growth but also perseverance, focus, and resilience — qualities that extend far beyond the 11 Plus exam itself.
From those who achieved outstanding scores to those who joined later in the journey, every student demonstrated genuine progress and commitment. As always, my aim is not just to prepare children for a test, but to develop confident, capable learners who enjoy the process of learning itself.
🎯 Understanding the Scores
For some quick context:
- The qualifying score for the 11 Plus is 205.
- The typical grammar school entry range begins around 218-224, though in previous years I’ve seen students gain entry with scores as low as 209.
🧠 Core Group (Main Cohort)
These were the students who completed the full programme and were predicted to achieve grammar-school standard results. Their outcomes were exceptional, with several scoring comfortably above the entry threshold.
| Candidate | Score | Notes |
| Student A | 247 | Outstanding result – comfortably above the grammar-school cut-off. |
| Student B | 244 | Outstanding result – comfortably above the grammar-school cut-off. |
| Student C | 240 | Excellent performance – strong grammar-school candidate. |
| Student D | 238 | Excellent performance – grammar-school standard. |
| Student E | 231 | Above cut-off – strong overall result. |
| Student F | 227 | On target for grammar-school entry. |
| Student G | 227 | Consistent and reliable performer throughout the year. |
| Student H | 224 | Achieved the grammar-school threshold. |
| Student I | 224 | Met the grammar-school threshold. |
| Student J | 215 | Just below typical entry range – may gain a place via waiting list. |
| Student K | 211 | Likely to gain a waiting-list place. |
| Student L | 209 | Lost interest in the final months; score doesn’t reflect full potential. |
| Student M | 209 | Hard-working student who achieved a personal best – likely waiting-list candidate. |
| Student N | 206 | Joined late but showed strong ability; not enough preparation time. |
☀️ Summer Revision Students
These students joined during the final 8 weeks of the summer revision programme and had no previous 11 Plus preparation. Despite limited time, they made remarkable progress.
| Candidate | Score | Notes |
| Student O | 204 | High-ability student who joined in summer; made outstanding progress. |
| Student P | 202 | Exceptionally gifted learner; would likely have been a 240+ candidate with an earlier start. |
💪 Continuing Learners
These students joined with the understanding that a pass was unlikely. Their families valued the learning process itself — focusing on confidence, engagement, and academic progress rather than just the test result.
| Candidate | Score | Notes |
| Student P | 190 | Joined late, inconsistent attendance; benefitted from structure and accountability. |
| Student Q | 180 | Overcame confidence challenges and made excellent personal growth. |
| Student R | 150 | Worked extremely hard despite starting significantly behind; very proud of his progress. |
🌱 Final Reflection
Every single child this year achieved something to be proud of. Most scored above the qualifying threshold, many reached grammar-school level, and all demonstrated genuine academic and personal growth.
As a tutor, I feel content knowing that parents could see the care, consistency, and dedication that went into helping each student reach their potential. Whether they passed or not, they leave this programme stronger, more confident, and ready for the next stage of their learning journey.
